There are numerous reasons for increases or even sometimes decreases in weight. Usually they are connected to emotional behaviour which drives the individual to resort to over-eating or purging to compensate for a feeling of loneliness, sense of failure or feeling rejected. This is often connected to depression.
It is important to clear with the medical profession that there are no health problems such as thyroid or diabetes.
Do you recognise this belief?
Some people share a belief, such as “all our family are fat, so you will be too”. When the habits are examined through history taking, it is often discovered that they have been eating a variety of food loaded with fat and sugar.
Do you know you can change your beliefs?
By changing the habits to healthy ones, and installing programs through hypnosis, EFT and NLP to assist the person to like foods that are good for them, the individual is able to establish a new way of living. By using hypnosis, it is important to install beliefs that they will be slim and healthy.
Do you recognise this behaviour?
Some people binge eat and then purge. To make the changes to their beliefs about themselves and give them tools to deal with emotional triggers, through hypnosis, NLP and EFT, they are able to establish a new way of seeing themselves. A client made a comment “I can’t believe how easy this is to make these changes”.
Do you believe Exercise is the only way to lose weight?
Exercise alone will not necessarily result in losing weight. A few of my clients are professional dancers. Considering they were doing hours of exercise per day, they were amazerd that they were gaining weight. Through history taking, it was found that they had emotional reasons for putting on weight. By dealing with the emotional triggers and making the necessary changes, and using hypnosis reprogramming, it was easy for them to return to their slim selves.
Establishing exercise that fits the individual’s way of life and enjoyment is essential. Some clients want to be more motivated to exercising at the gym. Others hate working out at the gym, but may find swimming, dancing or walking more attractive. One of my clients moved to a beach suburb. She was delighted to get up early in the morning and go for a walk along the beach, finding herself using self hypnosis to create her new image of a beautiful woman as she walked.
Have you been Yo Yo Dieting and putting on more Weight?
Many people think they need to “diet”. This creates Yo Yo dieting habits resulting in weight gain. The diets cannot be maintained for long. They “crash”, going off the diet. Then they gorge themselves, resulting in putting on more weight. Through hypnosis, the client learns to establish a realistic pattern of eating, using self hypnosis to support themselves. Also, through hypnosis and NLP reprogramming, they will then be attracted to eat foods that will support them with low GI ingredients that eliminate the “snacking” on cakes and biscuits, and will steadily decrease their weight and establish good health.
It is then possible to install hypnosis programming that will bring them to their ideal size. It is important to establish the desired size, rather than weight, as muscle weighs more than fat. As the increase of exercise will build muscle, which in turn burns fat, it will be important not to weigh oneself but rather measure size, as clothes become too big.
It is most important to establish a Life-style that will be maintained forever, creating lots of choices to make Happiness a Priority.
